Ever tried running sprint races in an ongoing sequence? It requires either being in top condition or having a body that’s built for the job, like our SR714 which turned out perfectly suitable for the job when our customer asked us to prepare it as a carrier for pipe induction heating equipment.
The use of induction heating offers a lot of advantages (e.g. reduced cycle times, accuracy, safety, reliability, efficiency etc.) but it does require a very strong power source. If you look at the 48” inductor rings as a (irreverently said) giant microwave you can imagine it requires a powerful source that cannot only generate the required amount of electricity but also handle the heavy peak currents. By optimizing the reliable, high performance SR714 base machine and powerful generator, the Maats engineers have developed a unit that is perfect for carrying & powering the Induction Heating units.
The first SR714 Induction tractors will be put to work on a project in the Sahara desert. The SR714 has proven itself for years in every imaginable condition, including desert terrain. The Sahara may not be the first place you’d say you would need help for heating up things, but during evening temperatures can drop over 40° and in winter time temperatures can even drop as far as below freezing point. Apart from that, even in high temperatures heat-treatment may be required for the intended processes such as pre-weld heating and the benefits for using induction are no different in the desert.
The SR714 is available in several configurations, the ‘SR714 Induction Tractor’ is the latest addition to the versatility of this high quality machine.
