On the 11th of October, six brand new LIEBHERR RL44 pipe layers were delivered to the Maats yard in Goor, the Netherlands. These machines are for expansion of our rental fleet. With a 238 HP engine output and an operating weight of around 35.000 kgs, the machine has a maximum lifting capacity of 45.900 kgs. These new machines comply with all the latest regulations regarding emission (EC / EPA) and safety (ROPS). This means that these machines can be deployed in Europe as well as in the rest of the world. Of course these machines have the typical LIEBHERR characteristics like the boom operation with the hydraulic cylinder which means a very precise operation of the boom as well as a safety feature in the unlikely case the machine tips over under heavy load. Furthermore the machines are supplied with a number of options like a hydraulic PTO on the hood and protection strips on the boom, as shown on below pictures.
The hydraulic PTO on the hood can be used for powering any external tool like a pipe facing machine, but also a generator or a compressor. This eliminates the need for a separate HPU ! Rubber protection strips prevent the boom from being damaged by lifted pipes. These are heavy duty vulcanized strips around a steel core. When strips are worn, these can be ordered as spare parts from any local LIEBHERR dealer, anywhere in the world.
