Although the greater part of Europe is still covered in snow and is still coping with freezing temperatures, Maats is already preparing for spring. In the LIEBHERR factory in Telfs, Austria, there is a number of pipelayers waiting for delivery to customers.
Last week, temperatures in the Netherlands dropped to an almost record -20°C, a temperature the machines in the above picture can easily cope with. The above machines are all equipped with a Winter Kit, making the machines suitable for temperatures as low as -40°C. This winterkit consists not only of special supplements (oils, antifreeze, hydraulic oil) suitable for -40°C but also double glazing for the cabin, heating for the water-fuel separator, a special starting control unit, covers for the engine hood, cooler and front and even some special undercarriage components. This Winter Kit is available for all LIEBHERR pipeline equipment, for pipe layers as well as welding tractors. Although temperatures here in the Netherlands are above zero again, these machines will be shipped to projects where temperatures can be below zero the greater part of the year. We however are waiting for spring, for pipeline projects to kick off again. And when they do, we are ready !
